Our approach is one that is collaborative in nature especially with our client but also with the suppliers. Typical savings range is between 9% and 15% however, we often achieve savings between of 15% and 25%.
Many factors influence the savings we achieve. For example, a lab’s willingness to change suppliers or move to a lower cost alternative product, often the same product with a different label. Other factors that influence our ability to drive savings include a lab’s willingness to move its reference lab or blood products from one provider to another, the willingness of both Lab and Supply Chain to put aside often well-established relationships with vendor representatives to allow our consultants to do the not so enviable job of negotiating prices not previously offered and whether or not the existing contract was well negotiated in the first place (GPO or no GPO).
